What is the difference between a base coat and a rubber base coat?

A normal base coat is usually a transparent varnish (gel) that is applied to the nails before the colored gel polish is applied. The purpose of a base coat is to protect the nails from discoloration and to ensure that the nail polish lasts longer. A rubber base coat, on the other hand, is specially designed to protect and strengthen the nails. This base coat is often thicker and more flexible than a normal base coat and can help strengthen nails and prevent breakage. Rubber base coats can also help when applying gel polish, as they create a smooth surface that distributes the nail polish evenly and prevents it from chipping or flaking.

WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENS DURING THE APPLICATION OF A BASE COAT?

A base coat creates an adhesive layer between the natural nail and the gel polish, which ensures that the gel polish stays in place better. This is achieved by the presence of certain ingredients, such as acrylates, that form a chemical bond with the nail plate. This creates a stable surface on which the gel polish can adhere and which is at the same time flexible enough to follow the natural movement of the nail.

In addition, a base coat often contains a so-called 'sticky layer', a sticky layer that forms after curing the base coat under the UV/LED lamp. This sticky layer provides extra adhesion to the gel polish and prevents the gel polish from sliding or peeling off.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF RUBBER BASE IN OUR RANGE?

If you are looking for a strong base for your treatments and nail extensions, rubber base is a very good choice. There are different types of rubber base available, such as ANOLE Rubber Base, ANOLE Elastic Base, The Gelbottle Rubber Base and ANOLE Latex Base. Choosing the right rubber base is important for creating strong and durable nail extensions. Depending on your nail type and desired application, you can choose a medium or thin viscosity or a thick viscosity for extra strength. We also have Rubber base in different colors such as the Rubber base from Florence nails.

ANOLE RUBBER BASE

ANOLE Rubber Base has a medium viscosity and has been specially developed as an underlay for the ANOLE Rubber Corrector. This base ensures good adhesion of the corrector, making it last longer. It can also be used for gel polish.

ANOLE ELASTIC BASE

ANOLE Elastic Base has a thin viscosity and is suitable for normal nails and as an underlayer for builder gel and acrylic gel. This base ensures good adhesion and flexibility of the nail extension.

ANOLE LATEX BASE

ANOLE Latex Base has a thick viscosity and is suitable as an underlay for builder gel and acrylic gel. This base has been specially developed for thin, broken and brittle nails and provides extra strong adhesion. This base is also suitable for placing stones.

To achieve the best results with ANOLE Rubber Base, it is recommended to first apply a PH bond to the nail. A PH bonder is an acidic primer that lowers the pH value of the nail plate, improving the adhesion between the nail plate and the rubber base. Applying a pH bond is especially important if your nails are naturally weak or brittle, or if you suffer from peeling nails.

THE GELBOTTLE RUBBER BASE

The Gelbottle Rubber Base also has a normal viscosity and is suitable as an underlay for builder gel and acrylic gel. This base ensures good adhesion and flexibility of the nail extension. Also available in Mini .
